Substrate Preference:
Best Substrates: Hardwood logs, particularly oak.
Growing Conditions: Maitake thrives in cooler temperatures around 10-20°C (50-68°F).
Cultivation Tips:
Incubation: Takes several months for mycelium to colonize wood logs.
Fruiting: Keep in a shaded and humid environment to encourage fruiting.
Harvesting: Harvest when the fronds are fully formed but before they become tough.
