Substrate Preference:

  • Best Substrates: Straw, hardwood sawdust, coffee grounds, or cardboard.

  • Growing Conditions: Oyster mushrooms thrive in temperatures between 15-25°C (59-77°F) with high humidity (85-95%).

Cultivation Tips:

  • Incubation: After preparing and sterilizing your chosen substrate (such as pasteurized straw or sawdust), inoculate it with Oyster mushroom liquid culture. Keep the substrate in a dark, warm environment at around 20-24°C (68-75°F) for 2-3 weeks while the mycelium colonizes.

  • Fruiting: Once the substrate is fully colonized, move it to a fruiting chamber with fresh air exchange, indirect light, and a high humidity level (85-90%). You can use a spray bottle to mist the fruiting chamber and maintain humidity.

Harvesting: Harvest when the caps are fully formed but before the edges curl upwards. Cut the mushrooms at the base to avoid damaging the substrate, leaving any smaller mushrooms for future harvests.
